Example at $100: net debit $300, max profit $9,700, max loss $300, breakeven $97.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate long put profit?
At expiration each leg is worth its intrinsic value; add the legs, subtract what you paid (or add what you collected), times 100 shares per contract. For the example structure at a $100 reference price the net debit is $300, max profit $9,700, max loss $300, breakeven $97.
What is the breakeven on a long put?
The settlement price where the position's P/L is zero. The calculator solves each segment of the payoff exactly rather than sampling, so the breakeven it shows is the true one for the strikes and premiums you type.
Does the calculator use live prices?
No: you type premiums, so it works for any ticker and any quote source. To price the same structure from the live chain and rank it against every other play, run the ticker in the OptionScout scanner.
