How does the 7-day free trial work?

Start it from any "Start 7-day free trial" button. A card is required but nothing is charged for 7 days, and you get full Pro access the whole time. On day 7 you're on Trader at $29/month (or $19/month billed yearly) unless you switch to Pro ($79/month) or cancel from the account menu, in which case you drop to the free plan and nothing is charged. One trial per customer.

Can I really use it free with live data?

Yes. Every other major options tool — Unusual Whales, SpotGamma, Cheddar Flow — gates real-time data behind a paid plan. OptionScout gives you live data on every US-listed ticker on the free tier. We monetize the upgrade to Trader / Pro for unlimited usage and power features, not the data itself.

What happens if I cancel?

Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, then your account drops to the free tier automatically. Your watchlist, paper portfolio, and settings are preserved — you just lose access to the paid-tier features and limits.

Can I switch between monthly and annual later?

Yes. Use the Customer Portal (link in your account menu after upgrading) to switch between monthly and annual billing, change tiers, update your payment method, or cancel — all self-service.

Do you offer refunds?

We offer a 7-day no-questions-asked refund on Trader and a 14-day refund on Pro annual. Just email hello@optionscout.ai. Beyond that we don't offer prorated refunds, but you can cancel any time and keep access through the end of the billing period.

Where does the market data come from?

OptionScout uses the Massive.com (Polygon) Options Advanced data feed — the same real-time OPRA tape institutional desks pay for. Greeks, IV, OI, and trades are all live during US market hours.

Is the AI Advisor included?

Yes, on every plan. The free plan includes 3 Advisor chats a day; Trader and Pro are unlimited. Saved chats — the ones you can reopen later — are a Trader feature (25 most recent) and unlimited on Pro. Every market-data tool has a button that hands what you are looking at to the Advisor.

What happens when I hit a free cap?

Scans and Advisor chats reset every day; nothing is deleted. Your watchlist, paper portfolio and settings stay exactly as they are, and every page keeps showing the free-tier data. Upgrade any time from the pricing page and the caps lift immediately.

What if I'm a student or active military?

There is no automated discount yet. Email hello@optionscout.ai from a .edu or service address and we'll set one up by hand.

Is my data private?

Yes. We don't sell or share your watchlist, paper trades, scanner history, or any personal data with third parties. The only data we share with our payment processor (Stripe) is what's required to process your subscription — name, email, and card details (which we never see directly).
