Frequently asked questions
- Where does the data come from?
- Live options and stock data from the Massive.com feed (Polygon-compatible), earnings dates from Finnhub, and OptionScout's own daily captures of gamma exposure and implied volatility. Every page says when it was last read, in Eastern Time.
- Is any of it estimated?
- No. When a quote, chain or calendar entry is missing the page says so and shows a dash. The only model numbers are implied volatility (solved from option prices) and the expected move (the at-the-money straddle or an IV-based range), both labelled.
- Which tickers are covered?
- The 161 stocks and ETFs with the most options trading. Each has a hub at /stocks/<ticker> linking its earnings, chain, put/call, expected move, IV rank, GEX and max pain pages.
